Anthem
For Green England was written by David Francis ( USA ) whilst on tour in the
U.K last September.
David was horrified to learn whilst on a visit to Yapton West Sussex, that
the U.K Government planned to destroy over 910 acres 87% of greenfield
land to build what is promoted / lipglossed as an Eco Town..
David took time on his already busy UK tour to write " Anthem For Green
England ".
Which was recorded at short notice in Monochrome Museum's bedroom / recording
studio..
In typical David Francis style he said " Hey Man " ! Heres the song.
You are the producer, i trust you to do it, to make it happen ! I know you
can.
With this hugh trust on my shoulders i set about involving fellow musicians
from around the Globe ..
After
a few drunken nights with Moll, David and Mira I set about the task of getting
musicians from around the Globe to play on a song they had never heard before,
worst of all, each track would be recorded via the internet, something we
had never tryed before,so it was a massive learning curve and we were flying
totally blind.
Bit by bit the backing tracks came in, Jeff Sawatzky ( Vancouver Canada )
put down a massive bass and slide guitar, followed by the incredible ivory
skills of Joe Pop ( Detroit ) then came lead guitar / congas by Mark Gowan
( Cornwall )
Ell Gowan laid some drum tracks down then all sent back to me to mix and produce.
then there was the job of getting a massive crowd shouting NO ! Again members
of the Global Village came through,
Me myself ( John Mono ) even had time to do backing vocals on the tracks,
inbetween mixing and producing the song.
What started off as an acoustic track written by David had turned into a full
on rock protest anthem.
The Single will be released on 27th Feb via 7 Digital and retail outlets in
and around Yapton
Already planned is a launch party @ The Lamb Inn Bilsham Road Yapton 8.00pm.
Where the local press and TV media will get their chance to hear the song
for the 1st time.

For Green England managed number 4 in the 7 Digital download chart. I'm sure
we could have got to number one, however we were let down by a mass email
that contained totally the wrong link.I asked that the link be resent but
it never happened.The hard copy CD / EP is now Stateside with David doing
as much as he can to gain extra promotion. All in all everyone did as much
as they can.
